Community Halloween Party

The Deniliquin Mental Health Awareness Group Annual Halloween event for families is taking place in the Waring Gardens on 31st October 2023 from 3pm – 5.30 pm.

The aim of the event is to decrease stigma about seeking supports for mental health and wellbeing; and creating an event where open conversations can be had about mental health; pathways to help and families can engage with services in a fun way.

Running from 3pm to 5.30 on Monday 31 October, families are encouraged to meet at the Waring Gardens side of Cressy street and to visit the Deni MHAG stall at the Multi Arts Centre to pick up a goodie bag of resources and to enter into the lucky door prizes.

Service providers delivering mental health supports and/or services to families will have stalls set up, where families can participate in some activities and find out more about what they do.

A safe route will be marked out for families to follow and visit stores and businesses in the CBD, where they can “trick or treat “ at participating businesses. Once families have completed this route, they can return to the Multi Arts Centre to vote for the best dressed shop.

There will also be a free BBQ provided by Rotary. Winners of the Colouring competition will also be announced.

Those wanting to decorate their homes and be added to the list of places families can trick or treat at, are encouraged to list their homes on the Facebook page created for the event.

This event is made possible by funding received from Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network Community Grants program.
