Local teachers take on the challenge
Deni MHAG is joining forces with the Channel4Change and Hiking For Health, Habitat and Humanity initiative to raise awareness of mental illness and mental wellbeing during Mental health Month in October.
School teachers, Brenda Norman, Mark Peterson and Josh Perizzolo will be setting themselves some extreme physical challenges to promote the importance of physical activity in maintaining mental health.
They will each exceed marathon distances, every day for five consecutive days, in their respective disciplines. Mr Peterson will hike 212km, Miss Norman will swim 100km and Mr Perizzolo will cycle 800km from Monday, October 5 to Friday, October 9 as part of the challenge.
